Five for Friday!

Even though I just started the blog, I wanted to jump in and link up with other teacher asap! I'm going to start off by linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday linky party.

I really love this time of year. Not only do I enjoy the colder weather and the delicious holiday food, I love being able to spend so much time with my family! I am thankful for so much in life, especially my family. It's so wonderful to spend the holidays with them.

Since it's only my second year of teaching, I spend a lot of time trying new things. Sometimes they are successful, and sometimes they fail. One thing my 4th graders completed early this week was their "Exploration Tic Tac Toe" board. They loved having freedom of choice, while still learning all of the material. If you're interested in checking it out, visit my TpT Store: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Samantha-Ayscue

I found a wonderful freebie on TpT that my students played on Tuesday afternoon: Turkey Trivia Scoot. When I taught 6th grade math last year, we played different versions of "Scoot" all the time. Tuesday was the 1st time for my 4th graders and they LOVED it! I'll definitely be creating new versions soon! Here's the link in case you want to add it to your Thanksgiving unit next year: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/FREE-Turkey-Trivia-Scoot-167871

This week I should find out if I'm accepted into graduate school and able to start in January. I plan to start on my Ma.Ed in Special Education. It's always been a field I've been interested in and I've decided to go for it! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Another exciting thing about the holidays--decorating the Christmas tree. I'm about to decorate mine now!

Next week I promise I'll have more teaching related stuff. Just not that prepared today, since I just started this thing!
